SSSTC Launches Gen5 Enterprise SSD: Targeting AI Applications and High-Performance Computing
Solid State Storage Technology Corporation (SSSTC) launches the EJ5 series PCIe® 5.0 SSD, specifically designed for enterprise applications focusing on AI, data centers, and high-performance computing (HPC) fields. This SSD aims to provide exceptional performance and reliability, particularly designed for enterprise-grade servers, rugged devices, and high-intensity workloads for mixed-use applications with U.2 and E3.S specifications.
The EJ5 series SSD is well-suited for high-intensity applications such as AI and machine learning (ML) processing, virtualization, and real-time data analysis, as well as large database management. This series adopts PCIe® 5.0 and NVMe™ 2.0 technology, with maximum sequential read and write speeds of up to 14GB/s and 7.5GB/s, and random read and write speeds reaching 2500K IOPS and 670K IOPS, respectively. Even under varying workloads and intense read/write operations, the QoS performance remains highly consistent, ensuring stable performance across different applications. In addition to ultra-high performance and stability, the EJ5 series features ultra-low latency, with random write latency as low as 14μs, providing rapid and stable data processing capabilities for AI applications.
SSSTC EJ5 series SSD offers various capacity and endurance options to meet different enterprise needs. For daily write workloads, it provides two choices: 1 DWPD for 5 years and 3 DWPD for 5 years. Capacities include 3,840GB, 7,680GB, and 15,360GB (1 DWPD), as well as 3,200GB, 6,400GB, and 12,800GB (3 DWPD). In terms of form factor, the series supports both 2.5-inch U.2 15mm and EDSFF E3.S specifications.
The EJ5 series is equipped with SSSTC's exclusive TrueLog 360 technology, a comprehensive logging feature that captures and records critical information about the SSD every hour throughout its entire lifecycle.
This technology provides continuous monitoring and in-depth analysis, allowing enterprise users to track the SSD's health status, temperature anomalies, performance stability, I/O usage, and component conditions at any time. Enabling real-time optimization and adjustments of the platform, environment, and applications without impacting end users, ensuring the stability and performance of the system.
Additionally, the EJ5 series features TruePLP, power-loss data protection technology, with ample backup capacitors to maintain data integrity during unexpected power outages, providing reliable assurance for enterprise applications.
With the launch of the EJ5 series, SSSTC, a subsidiary of Kioxia, has further strengthened its competitiveness in the enterprise market, offering more efficient and stable storage solutions for AI, data center, and HPC applications. The series is expected to enter mass production by the end of 2024.
