Star Wars Galaxies Expanded Trial

Star Wars Galaxies Expanded Trial

Gaming Oct 6,2006 0

Available via download from StarWarsGalaxies.com, the enhanced Star Wars Galaxies 14-day trial gives players a chance to become their favorite Star Wars characters and explore a massive online universe filled with other Star Wars fans LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment today debuted an enhanced trial for Star Wars Galaxies that, for the first time ever, delivers all the exciting content of the full versions of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, and its first expansion, Jump to Lightspeed, completely free for up to 14 days.

Players who convert their trial account to an active subscription can continue their adventures with these full versions of An Empire Divided and Jump to Lightspeed. As a bonus, they will also receive a copy of Rage of the Wookiees, the second expansion to Star Wars Galaxies, via a convenient download at no additional cost, along with an exclusive in-game item for use by one of their characters.

Star Wars Galaxies is one of the longest-running and most popular online experiences, bringing gamers of all ages and skill levels together in the ultimate Star Wars journey. Beginning aboard the Millennium Falcon, players help Han Solo and Chewbacca fend off the notorious Darth Vader, and then join up with Star Wars characters on missions that span across the galaxy. Heroic adventurers can seek their fortune in space or on the ground as a bounty hunter, smuggler, Jedi or a host of other newly enhanced, unique Star Wars professions, as they ally with the Rebels to fight against the Galactic Empire, or join forces with the Dark Side and crush the Rebel scum.

"We're so pleased to be able to open up the full versions of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided and Jump to Lightspeed for a full two weeks," said Jason Willig, senior director online for LucasArts. "Star Wars Galaxies is the only place where players can experience their personal Star Wars adventures twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and downloading our newly-enhanced 14-day trial of the game is the perfect way to jump right in and start playing."

"The 14-day trial is a great way for players to sample the exciting content in Star Wars Galaxies," said Nancy MacIntyre, vice president of global sales and marketing for LucasArts. "In November, even more content will be available to players when LucasArts releases Star Wars Galaxies: The Complete Online Adventures. This retail compilation includes all the game's expansions, along with a fantastic bonus DVD filled with premium, behind-the-scenes content."

In addition, all active Star Wars Galaxies subscribers will receive regularly-scheduled updates to the game filled with new content, features and enhancements. These Chapter Adventures, released periodically, are included in the players subscription fees and are delivered via automatic downloads in-game. So far in 2006, the Chapter Adventures have introduced high-value content such as brand-new quest series, server-wide events, a profession expertise system, and PvP upgrades.
