Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and United Microelectronics (UMC) have reported NT$51.79 billion (US$1.74 billion) and NT$10.86 billion in May sales, respectively, up 3.4% and 5.7% sequentially. TSMC expects to post sales growth of about 17% sequentially in the second quarter to NT$154-156 billion.

UMC has projected that it will report a 12-14% sequential rise in wafer shipments for the second quarter of 2013, with flat growth in ASPs.
