Verbatim 16GB microSDHC
2. Package, tests
We found the Verbatim microSDHC 16GB sold online (amazon.co.uk) for €12 - an average price for a Class10 microSDHC card.
The retail package is large compared to the tiny microSDHC card, as you see below. The card is protected into a hard plastic shell, which should be carefully cut in order to get the product out without damaging it:
Don't be fooled by the large picture below - the Verbatim microSDHC has the typical dimensions and appearance of microSD cards, measuring just 15.0×11.0×1.0 mm (0.59×0.43×0.039 in):.
- Tests
In order to test the Verbatim 16GB micro SDHC card, we used Kingston's MobileLite G3 card reader installed at a Gigabyte Z77X-D3H motherboard and we compared it with other 32GB SDHC cards we had in our labs.
We start with the H2Testw you see below:
At this test we got 35.1MB/sec reading and 12.4MB/sec writing (both sequential):
H2Testw |
Reading (MB/s) |
Writing (MB/s) |
Kingston UltimateXX UHS-1 SDHC 32GB | 77.7 |
34.1 |
Kingston UltimateX SDHC Class 10 32GB | 31.3 |
14.1 |
Sandisk Extreme UHS-1 SDHC 32GB | 42.2 |
32.3 |
Verbatim microSDHC Class10 16GB | 35.1 |
12.4 |
Comparing the Class10 products, the Verbatim microSDHC has a rather high reading speed, but it is slower during writing.
CrystalDiskMark 3.0.2e x64 edition
The next benchmark is the CryastalDiskMark (v.3.0.2e x64 ). The sequential performance of Verbatim's microSDHC card was again a little higher than what we saw previously; almost 39MB/sec for read and 14MB/sec for write.
The 4K and 4K 32 writing and reading speeds were also adequate, although slower than Sandisk's UHS-1 32gB SDHC.
CrystalDiskMark | Sequential Read | Sequential Write |
Kingston UltimateX 32GB SDHC | 20.12MB/sec | 14.47 MB/sec |
Kingston UltimateXX 32GB SDHC | 89.29 MB/sec | 47.73 MB/sec |
Verbatim microSDHC Class 10 16GB | 38.68 MB/sec | 14.20 MB/sec |
Sandisk Extreme UHS-1 SDHC 32GB | 20.62 MB/sec | 19.86 MB/sec |
