Verbatim, a long-time storage expert, to open new market share, released a Gen4 NVME SSD that aims for enthusiast PC and PS5 users with its high reading/writing operating speeds. The Vi7000G is the top-of-line product for Verbatim and in this review, we checked what users should expect and most important how is the overall performance.

The Verbatim Vi7000G 2TB model, includes DRAM onboard, which helps the drive at both reading/writing speeds. For sure you will get 7.4GB/s reading - 6.7GB/s writing (sequential) that will further boost your system performance and is for sure compatible with the PS5 NVME expansion slot. After formatting the drive you will get around 1.86TB and the product can stand up to 720TBW wear, which isn't on par with other manufacturers (like Samsung 980Pro/990Pro).

The Verbatim Vi7000G is a PCIe Gen4, and with high speeds, high working temperatures will come as well. The included heatsink does its job and in most cases will keep the NVME cool enough to perform very well. However, if you plan to perform high/intense workloads, you might consider adding the be quiet! MC1 Pro NVME SSD cooler, which has a bigger mass, will perform much better.

The retail price of the Verbatim Vi7000G 2TB series is around 120 Euro, making it a better deal compared with other high-end performance Gen4 NVME drives (like Samsung 980Pro / Kingston KC3000 / Samsung 990Pro) and if you don't mind the half TBW workload warranty, we highly suggest this product for all users who wish to have performance and good price ratio. The warranty that Verbatim offers for this product is 2 years at EU region.
