Xbox Live Gold Members Can Play All Games in EA Access for Free; Xbox One DVR Feature Postponed

Gaming Jun 8,2016 0

Microsoft and EA are offering Xbox Live Gold members the chance to experience the EA Access Vault for free from June 12 - 22. Seperately, the future of the highly anticipated DVR function of the Xbox One is uncertain. That means if you have Xbox Live Gold and own an Xbox One, you can play more than 20 of EA’s games.

Xbox Live Gold members can get started by downloading the EA Access Hub App by clicking on the Gold Member area on the home dashboard. No credit card or sign up are needed.

EA games now in The Vault include Battlefield Hardline, EA SPORTS UFC, Battlefield 4, FIFA 16, Dead Space, Madden NFL 16, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR, NHL 15, Titanfall, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare, Need for Speed Rivals, NBA LIVE 15, Peggle 2, FIFA 14, and Madden NFL 14.

After EA Access Free Play Days, you’ll have the option to become an EA Access member for $4.99 (USD) per month, or $29.99 (USD) for a full year, and can continue playing Vault games right where you left off. You’ll also get to keep your Gamerscore and achievements earned while playing.

With EA Access, members can play new EA titles before they are released for a limited time and save 10% on all EA digital purchases on Xbox One.

Xbox DVR feature delayed

In related news, the Xbox One was supposed to get a DVR feature for over-the-air TV this year. Howebver, Microsoft has confirmed that the tool is no longer being added to the console.

Microsoft cites a decision to focus on "new higher fan-requested gaming experiences across Xbox One and Windows 10."

With the DVR tool, users would be able to stream recorded content via the SmartGlass app for Android and iOS or the Xbox app on Windows 10. Apps would've also offered the ability to schedule recordings while on the go through OneGuide and that the content would be stored on an external hard drive.
