ViewSonic and BenQ roll out LCD monitors with 4ms response times
ViewSonic and BenQ recently introduced LCD monitors with 4ms response times, with the
companies planning to launch the products in the second quarter.
ViewSonic will start marketing a 19-inch model (VX924) priced at NT$16,900 (US$549) this
April and expects sales of 4ms LCD monitors to account for 10% of the companys LCD
monitor sales in Taiwan by the end of the first half of this year, according to Allan Chang, vice
president of ViewSonic for Asia-Pacific sales and marketing.
Although aggressively promoting models with faster response times in Taiwan, ViewSonic will continue focusing on 25ms response time models for other countries in the Asia Pacific region, as consumers there are more sensitive to pricing, Chang said.
In addition, BenQ showed a full line-up of LCD monitors with response times including 4, 5, 6 and 8ms. The company said it will launch LCD monitors with 4ms response times next quarter.
ViewSonic and BenQ ranked first and third in LCD monitor sales in Taiwan for the fourth quarter of 2004, according to International Data Corporation (IDC). For more information visit www.digitimes.com.
