Alienware Systems Introduce Blu-Ray enabled systems
Enhanced by Blu-ray Storage Technology for Huge Media Storage Capacity; Select Systems to Feature AMD LIVE! Capability That Centralizes Digital Media Content and Streams to Mobile Devices
Alienware(R) -- the leading manufacturer of high-performance desktop, notebook, media center, servers and professional systems -- will offer AMD LIVE!(TM) branded Aurora(TM) 7500 and Aurora ALX desktop systems, enabling users to consolidate their photos, videos, music, and movies in one place while accessing all of it through their TVs, game consoles, MP3 players, cell phones, and other common digital devices. In addition, Aurora 7500, Area-51(R) 7500, and ALX desktop systems are now featuring Blu-ray storage technology, a breakthrough optical disc format that delivers a maximum storage capacity of 50GB on a single dual-layer disc.
As part of the AMD LIVE! experience, Aurora 7500 and Aurora ALX systems come equipped with AMD Athlon(TM) 64 X2 dual-core processors and Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Media Center Edition operating systems. AMD64 dual-core technology ensures a seamless entertainment experience when running applications and background tasks simultaneously as well as when playing graphics-intensive games and editing video or audio.
AMD LIVE! opens up a wealth of entertainment possibilities. Users have the ability to stream music and video to their TV and mobile devices, transfer TV shows and movies to their notebooks or PDAs, and quickly sync their media files with handheld devices for entertainment on the go. Users can enjoy immediate access to personal media from anywhere in their home via their wired or wireless home network.
"The core value of the AMD LIVE! Aurora 7500 system is that it can consolidate your digital media in one place and enable you to distribute that media anytime, anywhere," said Mark Vena, Vice President of Marketing at Alienware. "Equally exciting is the addition of optional applications and services available through the AMD LIVE! Entertainment Suite on http://www.amdlive.com which expands entertainment capabilities far beyond the home by allowing easy access to digital media from mobile devices that consumers already use on a daily basis."
"AMD LIVE! converges home entertainment with personal computing by taking the innovative performance present in the AMD64 dual-core processor-powered Aurora 7500 and Aurora ALX and applying it to every aspect of a consumer's entertainment experience," said Bob Brewer, Corporate Vice President, Desktop Division, AMD. "AMD LIVE! PCs can erase limitations on entertainment, enabling Alienware users to enjoy their favorite digital media anywhere within the home and anywhere on the road."
With Blu-ray storage technology, Alienware systems give users the ability to store entire media libraries, including all their movies, pictures, and music on one disc. Users can also backup large amounts of hard drive data utilizing the massive Blu-ray storage capabilities. Available in 25GB single-layer discs or 50GB dual-layer discs, Blu-ray storage technology also enables high-definition picture quality (1920x1080 pixels) and uncompressed surround sound, which delivers audio at an even higher level of excellence than theater-quality surround sound. Blu-ray storage technology is now available as an option on Alienware systems.
