I-O Data Adds Blu-Ray Movie Play Back to its BD Drives
Japanese I-O Data will release a new software for its BRD-M2 series of Blu-Ray burners, in order to add play back functionality of BD movies.
The company will offer to the owners of its Blu-Ray burners the WinDVD BD software, enabling high definition movie reproductions on the BRD-UM2 (external) and DRD-AM2B (internal) drives. Availability of the software is expected next month.
The company has not yet announced the hardware requirements for the reproduction of BD titles on your PC. However, ownewrs of the I-O Data drives will need to install Windows XP SP2 OS, a Pentium D 930 (3GHz) or higher CPU, 1GB or more of memory and a motherboard with Intel's i945/955/965/975 chipset. In addition, an HDCP (High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) -compliant graphics accelerator board is required, as well as a 1920x1080 monitor with HDCP - compliant digital input.
