For a limited time only, customers will have the option of choosing the quad-core overclocked processor in the Area-51 7500 desktop "With four processing cores, the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 processor was already a performance powerhouse to begin with," said Frank Azor, Senior Vice President of Alienware's Worldwide Product Group. "We designed our latest P2 desktop chassis with the future upgradeability and performance in mind. It is these types of innovations that continue to enable Alienware to lead the market in performance and customization."

Alienware increased the clock rate of the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 from the default level of 2.66 GHz to 3.2 GHz. This helps ensure even faster and smoother performance when running the latest games and other demanding applications independently or simultaneously.

"As the world's first quad-core desktop PC processor, Intel's Core 2 Extreme QX6700 gives Alienware gamers the power to dominate on today's games while being ready for the multi-threaded games of tomorrow," said Greg Pearson, Vice President, Sales and Marketing Group and President, Intel Americas, Inc. "The Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 also empowers users to be master multitaskers, serving as the ultimate processor solution for Area-51 ALX and Area-51 7500 systems."
