Nvidia Low-end GeForce 9-Series of GPUs Available For $59

Nvidia Low-end GeForce 9-Series of GPUs Available For $59

GPUs Aug 27,2008 0

Nvidia today added the GeForce 9400 GT to its low-end series of GPUs for CUDA, enabling gaming, HD video, enhanced visual effects, and smoother Vista performance for retail prices as low as $59. The new GeForce 9400 GT also further extends CUDA general-purpose parallel computing to mainstream PC computing markets.

"GeForce 9400 GT GPUs are a great solution for consumers to optimize the performance of their PC for everyday applications, such as getting online directions through Google Earth or Microsoft 3D maps, or surfing the web for photos using an interactive plug-in like PicLens," Nvidia claims.

The new GeForce 9400GT features 16 streaming processors (SP), the GPU is clocked at 550MHz and it is manufactured using the 55nm process.

Moreover, it corresponds to PureVideo and PhysX technologies, DirectX 10, OpenGL 2.1 and comes with a PCI Express 2.0 connection interface. The available dual DVI ports can be connected to an HDMI cable through an adaptor, while the available S/PDIF can also stream audio to HDMI (reference design).

As PC applications become increasingly visual, many typical applications benefit from the graphics horsepower provided by a GeForce GPU, including editing photos, running Windows Vista, or encoding and playing high-definition videos through the use of applications like Elemental Technologies? BadaBoom.

GeForce 9 Series GPUs can also power applications that take advantage of the GPU for non-graphical computational tasks. For example, consumers today can use their GeForce 9 Series GPUs to run applications such as Folding@home and join online protein folding teams to help find cures for diseases such as Alzheimer?s or Parkinson?s.

Graphics cards featuring the new GeForce 9400 GT GPU are available now from add-in card manufacturers such as: ASUS, BFG, Colorful, Emtek, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision, Leadtek, MSI, Palit, PC Partner/Zotac, PNY, Point of View, Unika, Unitek, and XFX.

Texture Fill Rate 4.4 (billion/sec)

Memory Specs:
Memory Clock (MHz) 400 MHz
Standard Memory Config 512 MB
