Apple Suggests Antivirus For Macs

Apple Suggests Antivirus For Macs

Enterprise & IT Dec 2,2008 0

Apple has quietly signalled its shift with an item titled 'Mac OS: Antivirus utilities' posted on its support website on 21 November. It is the first time Apple admits that its MAC products could be threatened by web application exploits. According to the post on the company's support web site, "Apple encourages the widespread use of multiple antivirus utilities so that virus programmers have more than one application to circumvent, thus making the whole virus writing process more difficult."

Apple suggests MAC users to install one of the Intego VirusBarrier X5, Symantec Norton Anti-Virus 11 for Macintosh or McAfee VirusScan for Mac for their protection.
