Seagate Showcases Drives For Enterprise And Consumer Applications At CeBIT 2012

PC components Mar 6,2012 0

Seagate Technology's partners are showcasing the company's solid state and hard drive solutions at CeBIT 2012 in Hanover, Germany. Seagate's offering at CeBIT covers all options; traditional hard disk drives (HDDs), solid state drives (SSDs) and the company?s Momentus? XT solid state hybrid drive (SSHD).

Adaptec by PMC is demonstrating a server - powered by 22 Seagate Pulsar.2 SSDs - that doubles storage performance, reduces power consumption and increases reliability in a smaller data center footprint. The Seagate Pulsar.2 solid state drives, designed specifically for complex enterprise workloads, provide consistent performance, low latency, endurance and data integrity that data centers crave.

Server specialist Starline is presenting their new server and storage solutions using Seagate enterprise hard drives; Savvio 10K.5, Savvio 15K.3 and Constellation ES.2. The Savvio drives are high-performance 2.5-inch HDDs. The Constellation ES.2 drive is a 3.5-inch hard drive with up to 3TB of storage capacity.

Schenker Notebooks is presenting its latest gaming notebooks, which are equipped with the second generation of Seagate?s Momentus XT drive. This solid state hybrid drive provides a storage capacity of up to 750GB and is nearly three times faster than a traditional hard disk drive. The Momentus XT drive stands out because it unifies the best of both worlds. It is the combination of magnetic and flash storage. Therefore users benefit from the speed advantages of the SSD technology and the massive capacity of HDD drives.
