Samsung Announces Prices Of 55, 65-inch UHDTVs
Samsung today revealed the prices for its 55-inch and 65-inch UHD TVs in South Korea.
The Korean company will start acepting pre-orders for its 4K HDTVs for between June 1st and June 30th through department stores, with shipments to customers expected to start shortly after the pre-order period ends.
The 65-inch model of the F9000 series will sell for 8.9 million won ($7,900), while the 55-inch will go for 6.4 million won ($5,700). Samsung's 85-inch S9 series retails for $38,000 while Sony's similarly-sized UHD TVs retail in the U.S. for$5,000 and $7,000, respectively.
Samsung is also offering customers who pre-order the enew TVs a voucher for an Evolution Kit, which will upgrade the smart TV functions in 2014.
