LG G Pad 8.3, White Nexus 7 And Sony Z Ultra Google Play Editions Announced

Three new products are hitting the Google Play store's device section - Google Play editions of LG's G Pad 8.3, the Sony's Xperia Z Ultra and a white version of the Nexus 7.

The Sony Z Ultra Google Play edition has been released on the latest Android version (4.4; KitKat) and it’s available now through the Google Play store in the United States.

The device is based on the original Xperia Z Ultra. It comes with a 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 6.4" Full HD TRILUMINOS display at 344 pixels per inch, LTE, NFC - all contained in a dust-resistant and waterproo (IP55 & IP58) 6.5mm body, weighing 212 grams.

Along with brand new Android features, Sony Z Ultra Google Play edition also comes with some of Sony tech – BRAVIA smarts; TRILUMINOS display for mobile and X-Reality for mobile picture engine, and the Exmor RS for mobile image sensor.

The Z Ultra sells for $649, and comes unlocked and contract free.

The LG G Pad 8.3 from LG Electronics it the first device to be designated a Google Play Edition tablet. Google’s first Android Open Source Project (AOSP) tablet will feature the latest Android operating system, Android 4.4, KitKat. The LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition reference device will be available for purchase starting today in the United States on Google Play.

The device features a 8.3-incch 1920 x 1200 WUXGA Full HD IPS display with a pixel density of 273 pixels per inch. With the KitKat’s Full-screen Immersive mode, the system UI such as the status bar and navigation bar can be hidded, provided a great experience for rich visual content such as photos, videos, maps, books and games.

The LG G Pad 8.3 is powered by a 1.7GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU paired with 2GB of RAM. It has 16GB of internal storage, expandable up to an additional 64GB with a microSD card. It also has a 4,600mAh Lithium polymer battery inside, as well as a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.

It will be available in glossy Indigo Black for USD 349.99.

Also available today is the white Nexus 7. The device is coming with a 32GB configuration with Wi-Fi connectivity asnd shares the same specifications as the black models, including a 7.02-inch, 1920 x 1200 display with a pixel density of 323. It has a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. Inside, it has a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 3,950 mAh battery with Qi wireless charging, and 2GB of Ram.

The white Nexus 7 sells for $269.
