Facebook is updating Facebook Search so that it makes all 2 trillion public posts searchable.

The new search within Facebook will offer you personalized search suggestions. As you type, Facebook will highlight things that are happening right now so you can follow popular stories as they unfold. When you search, you'll now see the most recent, relevant public posts along with posts from your friends. You also can pull-to-refresh and see the latest public posts.

Facebook’s new search tool will display relevant posts - important organizations and public figures first, then your friends’ posts and group discussions, then the musings of Internet randoms.

This means that if you post on your Timeline without defaulting to "Friends only," Facebook's new universal search will make your Timeline searchable to the world.

The updates are rolling out now in US English on iPhone, Android and desktop.
