Apple will reportedly continue its reduced production of iPhones for another three months, as sales of the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are slower than expected. The Nikkei Asian Review reports that Appe has cut iPhone production by 30 percent in the January to March quarter and that the reduction is being extended for the subsequent three months.

Apple had again cut the production of the iPhone 5C model in 2013, a month after its launch.

Apple introduced the iPhone SE last month in an effort to plump up sales ahead of rolling out a new flagship model later this year. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing on Thursday said that demand for smartphones that cost more than $500 is waning.

Apple has not commented on the report.
