TCL Announces Home Theater Products, TVs and Headphones at CES 2019

TCL Announces Home Theater Products, TVs and Headphones at CES 2019

Consumer Electronics Jan 8,2019 0

TCL at CES 2019 unveiled new products to enhance its current home theater ad TV lineups and announced the expand of its audio categories to headphones.

The company discussed new technologies being developed with Roku including the first ever 8K TCL Roku TVs and new TV models with microphones built in. In addition, TCL's latest introductions complement their TVs with the company's first home audio product expansion - the TCL Alto Home Theater Sound Bars.

TCL will offer the newest and largest model in its TCL Roku TV 6-Series with a 75" screen size and up to 160 Contrast Control Zones. This television is now available for pre-order today on BestBuy.com for less than $1800 and will be rolled out to a broad range of retailers in the coming weeks. In addition to increasing in size, all TCL 5- and 6-Series sets in North America receive automatic software updates including Roku OS 9, available to TCL Roku TVs in the coming months. Roku OS 9 features Spotify support, "Free" Genre Voice Search and compatibility with Dolby Vision HDR on Xbox One X and One S consoles.

TCL also announced that its high-end TVs will soon be based on Mini LED, utilizing Quantum Dot technology and Quantum Contrast Technology - a backlight technology in a television based on mini-LEDs. They promise to deliver up to 300% more contrast control zones; 8K resolution; and Artificial Intelligence through Voice Assistant Services.

TCL will be launching two new lines of sound bars – the Alto 5 with convenient setup for TVs 43" and larger, as well as the Alto 7 with more connectivity and audio performance for TVs 55" and up - in two form-factors for each series. Both the Alto 5 + and Alto 7 + come equipped with a wireless subwoofer. In addittion, the TCL Alto Sound Bars provide playback for any TV as well as music from your smartphones, tablets and laptops.

The TCL Alto 5 and 7 Sound Bars will be available this Spring.

TCL and Roku also introduce 8K resolution to its product line, delivering over 33 million pixels compared to 8.3 million in today's UHD 4K TVs. TCL has joined together with other display innovators to become one of the founding members of the recently announced 8K Association.

This year's TCL Roku TV 8-Series will offer available 8K resolution in screen sizes of 75" and larger in the US market. Each of these TVs will feature upscaling performance to convert today's 4K and full HD resolution content. And with support for the latest HDMI standards, these 8K TV models will be ready for the next stage of the 8K content evolution as new devices come to market that are ready to deliver 8K movies, games and more.

In addition to delivering advances in picture performance with 8K, QLED and Quantum Contrast technologies, select TCL Roku TV models launching later this year will offer an integrated far-field mic array. Noise suppression and beam-forming noise localization technologies, being developed by Roku, will allow customers to naturally talk to their TCL Roku TV at any time, even in most noisy situations. With Roku Entertainment Assistant, users will get access to entertainment by using natural language to control and navigate their TV or search for content.

New line of Headphones

At its press conference at CES, TCL also announced plans to expand their audio categories to offer a broad assortment of headphones. The company unveiled a range of headphones, from in-ear to over-the-ear styles, across four lines for consumers who want to be different (SOCL), be themselves (MTRO), be healthy (ACTV), and be excellent (ELIT) while listening to music.

The new TCL headphone lineup promises to bring consumers closer to their music through smart application of design, ergonomics and specialized audio engineering. An award-winning innovation lab in Belgium (iLab) is dedicated to bringing superior sound and smart solutions to TCL products while the company works with partners to co-develop drivers and production processes.

SOCL headphones take the inspiration of happy moments into its design - sunrises, sunsets, trips to the beach with friends, adventurous nights out - to represent a positive spirit. Featuring transparent housing with a gradient color treatment, they also boast powerful speaker drivers. The comfort-fit noise isolating earbud provides instant and long wearing usability, in both wired and wireless options.

MTRO is designed for urban consumers. A fluid Utilitarian design allows comfort for a headphone that's more universal in appeal. The headphones use a powerful bass driver with extended low sound frequency and a comfort-fit noise isolating design. This line features both in-ear and headband styles in wired and wireless options.

ACTV is designed for sport-users, so they are featuring a hook design in order to stay in place. They are IPX4 rated, made of sweatproof materials and built to last for extensive use. Both wired and wireless options are available.

ELIT is designed for those who always want to upgrade and feel luxury in any form. They are the most premium product in TCL's headphone portfolio and features certified Hi-Res speakers. The Traveler Edition offers active noise cancellation technology that reduces ambient noises. Together with long battery play time, a fast charging feature and compact foldable design, you can access music wherever you want for as long as you want.

TCL's top-of-the-line ELIT headphones, along with the rest of the line, will be available by Summer. The wired in-ear and earbud headphones will be available February 1, with the other models launching in the months following.
