The once-popular Motorola Razr flip phone is being revived as a smartphone with a foldable screen and a starting price of roughly $1,500, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The new device will be made by Motorola’s parent company Lenovo and will be released with Verizon Communications Inc. on an exclusive deal as soon as February, according to the WSJ report.

According to WSJ, Lenovo is hoping to manufacture over 200,000 of the new RAZRs, which may seem optimistic for a $1,500 luxury smartphone.

The report does not provide any additional information about the phone.

Other rerpors refer to the new smartphone as "Motorola Razr V4" and describe it as a foldable down the middle device like the old Motorola flap phone. It is said to have three AMOLED displays.

The original RAZR was one of the most iconic cellphones ever made, and it seems that Lenovo is looking to cash in on that branding with a high-end device.

Some years ago, Motorola had again teamed up with Verizonfor a series of Droid RAZR devices.
