Apple Could Release New iPhones For The German Market
Apple is rumored to release two iPhone models modified enough to bypass the recent sales ban on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 devices in Germany.
German site WinFuture is citing sources in the supply chain of German retailers to report that Apple is modifying both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 to such an extent that they require specific new model numbers, such as ‘MN482ZD’ and ‘MQ6K2ZD’.
Although the differences in the actual specifications of the updated models compared to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 should be not important for the end users, Apple is obviously trying to circumvent a sales ban on both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 in German which was won by Qualcomm last month as part of ongoing global litigation between the two companies.
Apple declined to comment.
