Acer TravelMate X514-51 Series Notebook Released

Acer TravelMate X514-51 Series Notebook Released

PC components Mar 18,2019 0

Acer's new TravelMate X514-51 commercial notebook series for businesses is currently available in the U.S.

The TravelMate X514-51 sports a magnesium-lithium and magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis for durability. These materials are two to four times stronger than standard aluminum alloys at the same thickness, yet weigh up to 20-35 percent less. This blend of materials makes the TravelMate X514-51 series thin and light, while also being resistant to bending and twisting.

The TravelMate X514-51 weighs 2.16 pounds and measures 0.6 inches thin. Up to 10 hours of battery life supports a full day’s work on a single charge. The new notebooks are powered by up to 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processors, up to 16GB DDR4 memory, and up to 512GB solid state drives. They run on Windows 10 Pro.

Supporting Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) with IPS technology, the TravelMate X514-51’s 14-inch touchscreen sports narrow .36-inch bezels to maximize viewing area.

The series comes with full-sized back-lit keyboards, along with Corning Gorilla Glass NBT touchpads that support two-finger scroll, pinch and gestures.

It is also equipped with a 720p HD webcam with Acer Purified.Voice, two built-in speakers and two microphones for far-field pickup, keyboard suppression and voice tracking.

For quick plug-and-play docking, the TravelMate X514-51 has a USB Type-C port for pairing with an optional Acer USB Type-C Dock II (sold separately) to expand workspace capabilities, including the connection of up to three 4K displays. Connectivity is delivered via MU-MIMO 2x2 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0.

An embedded fingerprint reader, integrated into the power button, works with Windows Hello for sign-in via a fingertip. A Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 chip provides hardware-based protection for passwords and encryption keys. The system is also preloaded with Acer ProShield, a suite of security and management tools, to safeguard sensitive data. A Kensington lock provides additional security.

The Acer TravelMate X514-51 series notebooks will be available in the United States in June with a one-year international traveler’s warranty, which runs concurrently with the standard one-year parts and labor limited warranty. This traveler’s warranty is valid in more than 30 countries where Acer has authorized repair facilities. Prices for the Acer TravelMate X514-51 series start at $1,099.99 for an Intel Core i5/8GB DDR4 RAM/256GB SSD model.
