Apple Offers Trade-in Program For Android, Blackberry And Windows Phones
Apple stores will start accepring your Android, Blackberry or Windows phone from March 30 as trade-ins towards new handsets.
The program allows users of select Android, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry phones to bring in their devices and receive credit toward the immediate purchase of a new iPhone 5c, iPhone 6, or iPhone 6 Plus (but not an Apple Watch).
North America, France, Germany, the UK and Italy are also included in the program.
The program is the result of Apple' s agreement with Brightstar, which specializes in retail trade-ins. According to Brightstar's iPhone recycling guide, an unlocked, fully functioning and good condition black iPhone 4S would fetch US $35 in store credit.
Last week, Apple also announced a buyback program for China, with manufacturer Foxconn to oversee the resale of used handsets, initially through a selection of e-commerce websites and then other physical stores.
