Daewoo cuts prices on PDP TVs

Daewoo cuts prices on PDP TVs

Consumer Electronics Apr 11,2005 0

Daewoo Electronics is joining a drive to slash the price of plasma display panel (PDP) televisions. The company announced Sunday it will release three 42-inch high-definition PDP TVs. All three models have a built-in set-top box, with prices starting from W3.7 million (US$3,650) for the DPA-4290NDSB model. The company aims to lead the popularization of PDP TVs by making quality products at a reasonable price, said Choi Jae-beom, an executive director of Daewoo Electronics.

LG Electronics slashed the minimum price of its 42-inch PDP TV to W3.9 million last month, through a special sales promotion event. Samsung Electronics is offering a package product of a 42-inch PDP TV and a 17-inch liquid crystal display (LCD) TV for W4.1 million.
