EA SPORTS Details FIFA 18 And More at E3

EA SPORTS Details FIFA 18 And More at E3

Gaming Jun 11,2017 0

Electronic Arts (EA) kicked off E3 with reveals of a story mode for its famous football FIFA 18 franchise, a new IP from BioWare, live gameplay of Star Wars Battlefront II along with big reveals for its Madden, Battlefield and Need for Speed franchises.

FIFA 18 will continue to feature fictional character Alex Hunter's soccer career as started in FIFA 17. It brings back The Journey, and promises to fix numerous mechanical flaws.

FIFA 18's The Journey mode is a direct continuation of the tale of Alex Hunter. Only this time, EA is promising a more diverse mix of professional players and famous footballing locations.

The Journey provides a safe space for FIFA newcomers to learn the basics. Through training sessions and a gentle introduction to full fixtures, players can understand how to pass, shoot and tinker with tactics without the pressure of having to perform at the kind of lofty level required, for instance, in online multiplayer.

EA has made changes to the way players move. There are six different core styles of running this time out, with individuals of different statures covering ground in their own way. Taller players, for example, run with longer, antelope-like strides, whereas the legs of shorter players are more fidgety. Both the taller and shorter player might have the same top speed, but the number of strides they take to achieve that is different.

One top of this, some of the world's most famous players feature their own unique forms of running based on their distinctive real-life forms.

Besides the visual improvement, these running types impact gameplay too. You have to pay much more attention to where a player's feet are and how their legs move in order to make the most of them. Taller players might have a problem in positioning themselves at short notice to perform one of the new types of volley, whereas a shorter player might struggle physically and instead create space to volley in a crowded penalty area.

The crowd has been reworked to reduce the number of clones and stadium-wide animation sequences. When goals are scored different parts of the crowd react in different ways.

The game is set to come out Sept. 26.

For Nintendo Switch, FIFA 18 brings the modes fans know and love, including FIFA Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Kick Off and Local Seasons. Ultimate Team fans will get to participate in features like Squad Building Challenges, Online and Offline Seasons, Tournaments, and Draft.

The game takes advantage of the console's unique portability, allowing players to enjoy the game in docked, handheld or tabletop mode, and utilizing local multiplayer connection for Local Seasons. Multiple control schemes are also featured, so whether you prefer to play handheld, dual Joy-Con, single Joy-Con or Pro Controller, there's an option to fit your playstyle.

The game is outputting 1080p resolution when docked and 720p on handheld.

Longshot is the story mode of Madden NFL 18

EA is layering a cinematic story on top of the single-player mode. That's what Longshot represents in Madden NFL 18 - a story about a young athlete trying to make his way to the pros.

Battlefield 1's new DLC, In the Name of the Tsar

6 new maps, 11 new weapons, new vehicles and a new mode called Supply Drop are just some of what Battlefield 1 players can expect from the In the Name of the Tsar DLC in September. Along the way, EA will release two additional maps this summer, one in June and one in July.

Need for Speed Payback

The new Need for Speed Payback follows a team of drivers who are being threatened by a dangerous group known as the House.

A Way Out

A Way Out is the successor of Brothers, and while it looks like a more adult narrative, it also stars two characters who have to work together.

Anthem is a new original IP from BioWare

EA says that we'll see gameplay for the first time at Microsoft's press event.

NBA Live 18 revives

NBA Live 18 is coming this year. It will introduce a new mode called The One that will allow players to create a custom player and gain points as they play. They can use these points to upgrade their characters, and when the demo arrives in August, players will be able to check out The One mode and port any progress they make to the final game.

Star Wars Battlefront II has a single-player campaign

Star Wars Battlefront II is bigger and better than the first in every way, with three times the content, a single-player story mode, battles sprawling across all three eras and free characters arriving later this year.
