Acer held a press event today in New York to announce new Chromebooks, laptops, desktops along with the ConceptD product portfolio designed for creators.
Two New Chromebooks for enterprises
Acer introduced two new premium Acer Chromebook lines, the Acer Chromebook 715 and Acer Chromebook 714, designed to help employees work in the cloud. Both new Acer Chromebooks have an all-aluminum chassis that delivers military-grade (U.S. MIL-STD 810G) durability, as well as an integrated fingerprint reader, and Citrix Ready Certification.
Both Chromebooks include Full HD displays, up to 8th Gen Intel Core processors and up to 12 hours of battery life. They also come with
Corning Gorilla Glass touchpads with click-anywhere functionality, scratch- and moisture-resistance.
The Acer Chromebook 715 is the first Acer Chromebook on the market to include a dedicated numeric keypad. In addition, it has a backlit keyboard, a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display, and both touch-screen and standard display options.
The Acer Chromebook 714 has a 14-inch Full HD display. The slim bezels measure as little as 6.18 mm (0.24 inches) to reduce the overall footprint. Like the Acer Chromebook 715, the Acer Chromebook 714 has IPS technology and comes in touch-screen and standard non-touch options.
Both can be powered by a range of processors, including the 8th Gen Intel Core i5 and Core i3 processors as well as Intel Celeron and Intel Pentium® Gold options.
The Chromebooks have a USB 3.1 Type-C port on each side and also have a USB 3.0 port and a MicroSD card reader. They provide Dual Band Wireless-AC 802.11ac/a/b/g/n 2x2 along with Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity.
The optional Acer USB-Type-C Dock can be connected via a single cable to the new Acer Chromebook 715 and 714, transforming them into workstations that can connect to external displays, printers, and more.
- The Acer Chromebook 715 will be available with 8GB or 16GB of DDR4 SDRAM and either 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of eMMC storage. It will be available in North America in July, starting at USD 499; and in EMEA in June in the approved Chrome OS territories, starting at EUR 599.
- The Acer Chromebook 714 will be available with 8GB or 16GB of DDR4 SDRAM and either 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of eMMC storage. It will be available in North America in July, starting at USD 499; and in EMEA in June in the approved Chrome OS territories, starting at EUR 549.
Updates the Spin 3 Notebook
Acer announced the new Spin 3, the latest addition to its Spin convertible notebook series. It is powered by Windows 10 and up to an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and an optional NVIDIA GeForce MX230 GPU, it features up to a 512GB PCIe SSD and up to 1TB of HDD storage, a dockable and rechargeable pen, and Wi-Fi 5 performance.
Weighing 1.7 kg (3.74 lbs.), the new Spin 3 features a 9.6 mm (0.38 inches) thin bezel with a 79 percent screen-to-body ratio for more screen real estate on its 360-degree flipping display that can be used as a laptop or tablet. The Spin 3's 14-inch Full HD IPS touch display allows for input via pen and touch simultaneously, and the Acer Active Pen enables direct on-screen input at multiple points of contact.
Professionals on-the-go can work for up to 12 hours without recharging the battery, and the dockable Acer Active Pen lets users instantly jot down notes and prevents misplacing them.
The Spin 3 also comes with two front-facing speakers and its Precision TouchPad supports Windows 10 gestures. Gigabit Dual-band Wi-Fi 5 with MU-MIMO technology keeps users connected.
The Acer Spin 3 will be available in North America in June, starting at USD 499.99; and in EMEA in June, starting at EUR 699.00.
New Acer Aspire Series of Notebooks
Acer revealed the latest updates and new models of its Aspire series notebooks.
The Acer Aspire 7 has a metal top cover and keyboard body, powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics, and built with up to 16GB DDR4 memory.
Opening and editing large files is no problem with up to 16GB of DDR4 memory and up to a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD in RAID 0, and up to 2TB HDD.
It also comes with a backlit keyboard, a 15.6-inch narrow border IPS Full HD display, and Acer Color Intelligence. Featuring Acer TrueHarmony technology, the Aspire 7 promises to delivers deeper bass and powerful volume.
The Aspire 7 has a full range of ports including HDMI and USB 3.1. It also uses 802.11 2x2 AC with MU-MIMO technology.
Designed for ease of use on the move, users can login via a touch of the built-in fingerprint reader through Windows Hello.
Aimed at family users, bloggers, photographers, and enthusiasts, the Acer Aspire 5 is featuring a sandblasted aluminum top cover. It is is measuring 17.95 mm (0.70 inches) thin, includes up to a 15.6 inch Full HD IPS display, an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with an NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics, or a 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen Mobile Processor with Radeon Vega Graphics, and discrete Radeon RX 540 graphics.
Along with the convenience of an optional fingerprint reader to login, compatibility with the Cortana personal digital assistant is another Windows 10 feature, offering the freedom of voice control. Power-off charging is supported via one of the USB ports.
The Acer Aspire 3 is a classic laptop with a slim body. It comes in 14-inch, 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch Full HD 1080p resolution displays.
Powered by an up to 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics, or a 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen Mobile Processor with Radeon Vega Graphics, and discrete Radeon RX 540 graphics, the Aspire 3 delivers powerful multimedia experiences. It also comes with up to a 512GB PCIe SSD and a 1TB HDD.
The Aspire 3 also packs in features such as up to 16GB DDR4 memory, Acer BluelightShield technology that may help protect eyes, an HDMI port, three USB ports, and the 17-inch version comes with a built-in DVD drive. The Precision TouchPad is more responsive than traditional touchpads and the chiclet keyboard provides tactile feedback. Strong wireless signal is maintained with the strategically placed 802.11ac wireless antennae.

New Nitro 7 and Updated Nitro 5 Series Gaming Notebooks
Acer's latest additions to the Nitro 7 and Nitro 5 gaming notebook series are powered by Windows 10. The new Nitro 7 notebook is for casual gamers. In addition, Acer has updated the Nitro 5 series notebook with the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics, a new display with a 144Hz refresh rate, and a low-latency response time of only 3ms. Both laptops take advantage of the all new 9th Gen Intel Core processors.
Acer's new Nitro 7 is has a metal chassis measuring just 19.9 mm (0.78 inches). It comes with a high-resolution 15.6-inch display at a 144Hz refresh rate with a 3 ms response time. A new high performance 9th Gen Intel Core processor and the latest NVIDIA GPUs power the Nitro 7. It also has two slots for M.2 Gen 3x4 PCIe SSDs using NVMe technology in RAID 0, and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM with up to 2TB of HDD storage.
Acer's updated Nitro 5 comes with a Full HD IPS display in either a 17.3-inch narrow bezel display, or 15.6-inch with an 80 percent screen-to-body ratio.
The Nitro 5 combines a new 9th Gen Intel Core processor, the latest NVIDIA GPUs, two M.2 Gen 3 x4 PCIe SSDs using NVMe technology in RAID 01, and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM. It streams gameplay with Gigabit Wi-Fi 5 with 2x2 MU-MIMO technology. Users can also connect supporting gadgets with an array of ports such as HDMI 2.0, USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1, and more.
Both the Nitro 7 and Nitro 5 feature dual fans, plus Acer CoolBoost technology and a dual exhaust port designed to keep the Nitro 7 chilled out during extended gaming sessions. Acer says that CoolBoost increases fan speed by 10 percent and CPU and GPU cooling by 9 percent compared to auto mode.
Users can monitor and manage the Nitro 7 and 5 with NitroSense -- an app that's accessible with one touch of the NitroSense hot key. Once enabled, users can visualize component temperature, loading performance, power usage, and more. It also allows for fan speed monitoring and adjusting in real time. Additionally, users can set up a power plan to achieve optimal power usage in different scenarios, or access Acer TrueHarmony's six sound modes, turn sticky keys on or off, and activate the LCD overdrive to bring the display response time down to 3ms.
Both the Nitro 7 and Nitro 5 adopt Killer Ethernet E2500 or Acer's Network Optimizer to prioritize gameplay. The Ethernet controller automatically detects game, video and chat streams to deliver prioritized bandwidth. When selecting Auto Mode, Acer's Network Optimizer is able to categorize high-demand programs to reduce connectivity issues. Alternatively, users can manually determine priority programs, change the bandwidth allocation for each application, or even block specific applications to tune their connection for optimal performance.
The new Nitro 7 and updated Nitro 5 are adopting Waves MaxxAudio advanced sound optimization technologies. MaxxBass boosts tones to deliver thundering lows, even on small speakers or headsets. MaxxDialog is an intelligent speech booster helping separate game dialog from music and sound effects. Meanwhile, MaxxVolume delivers maximum volume and clarity without distortion.
Acer's Nitro Stream is a dedicated, plug-and-play Personal Streaming PC (PSPC) for PC and console game broadcasters. it offer users Full HD streaming, gameplay sharing and interacttion with friends and the gaming community. Users can optimize streaming performance with an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD and an integrated capture card. It delivers a 4Kp60 gaming experience while streaming at 1080p with the capture card's Pass-Through feature. The integrated card does the heavy-lifting to capture, record, and stream content without lag between gaming and streaming displays. Streamers can free up desk space with this single compact device that can even attach to the back of a display with a VESA mount.

New Acer TravelMate P6 Series Notebook
The Acer TravelMate P614-51 sports a magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis. Weighing just 2.4 pounds (1.1 kg) and measuring only 0.6 inches (16.6 mm), it's easy to take on the road. It offers to 20 hours of battery life and can also be charged up to 50 percent in less than 45 minutes.
The new Windows 10 Pro notebooks are packed with up to 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processors, up to 24GB DDR4 memory, up to NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics, and up to 1TB of responsive Gen 3 x4 PCIe SSD using NVMe technology. The TravelMate P614-51 makes sharing and collaborating easy with a 180-degree hinge design.
The TravelMate P614-51's 14-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display delivers 170-degree wide viewing angles. The notebook also comes with a full-sized and back-lit keyboard, a damage-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass NBT touchpad, and a four-mic array that picks up vocals from up to 6.5 feet away.
The TravelMate P614-51 also complies with MIL-STD 810G, 810F, a set of U.S. military grade standards that define the durability of a wide range of products. The testing follows stringent procedures such as a drop test involving 26 drops from a height of approximately 48 inches (122 cm) on various parts of the frame -- landing on 2 inches of plywood placed on concrete. Other tests check the laptop's resistance to rain, humidity, and extreme temperatures.
Outfitted with Windows 10 Pro, the TravelMate P614-51 offers security features to safeguard data. Users can log in using Windows Hello with the fingerprint reader via the power button, or through the IR webcam that leverages biometric facial recognition. When the webcam isn't in use, the camera shutter can be closed for additional security. An integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 chip delivers hardware-based protection for passwords and encryption keys. The pre-loaded Acer ProShield includes a suite of security and management tools, while Acer Office Management lets IT professionals deploy security policies and monitor assets from one interface. Available as an option on select models, Intel vPro tightens security with another layer of protection.
Professionals can maintain a high-speed wireless connection with eSim-enabled 4G LTE and 802.11ac 2x2 MU-MIMO technology. Intel Thunderbolt 3 delivers data transfers up to 40Gbs to USB Type-C-connected devices. Users can connect a cable from the USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port to a Thunderbolt 3-enabled device and get four times the data and twice the video bandwidth of any other port type while also supplying power and support for up to 8K displays. Other ports include MicroSD card and smart card readers, and NFC (Near Field Communication).

Predator Helios 700 Notebook with HyperDrift Keyboard
Acer unveiled two new Predator Helios gaming notebooks today.
The new Predator Helios 700 includes a HyperDrift keyboard that slides forward, allowing increased airflow directly through the top of the notebook. The redesigned Predator Helios 300 includes a modern look and is powered by either up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 with Max-Q Design, or the latest GeForce GTX GPUs.
The Predator Helios 700 notebook ispowered by an up to 9th Gen Intel Core i9 processor for overclockable performance, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 or 2070 GPU, up to 64GB of DDR4 memory, and Killer DoubleShot Pro with Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX 1650 and E3000. All that power makes games roar to life on the notebook's 17-inch 144Hz FHD IPS display with 3ms response time and NVIDIA G-SYNC technology. it also comes with five speakers and a subwoofer.
One of the Helios 700's most interesting features is its HyperDrift keyboard, part of the notebook's thermal architecture. It consists of two of Acer's custom-engineered 4th Gen AeroBlade 3D Fans, five copper heat pipes, a vapor chamber and Acer CoolBoost Technology. By sliding the keyboard forward, two additional air intakes are uncovered above the keyboard and below the display, giving the heat-generating components extra air flow for maximum cooling and overclocking. The glass panel also provides a view of the notebook's heat pipes.
The HyperDrift keyboard improves ergonomics; with the keyboard closer now, gamers can keep a good distance to the 17-inch screen without over extending hands. The keyboard also features per-key RGB lighting, anti-ghosting and MagForce WASD keys. The MagForce Keys use analog-like linear switches that trigger actuation immediately upon the initial press. A Precision Touchpad is outlined with blue lighting and features two discrete mouse buttons below the pad.
A Turbo hotkey engages overclocking while the new PredatorSense hotkey provides immediate access to CPU and GPU temperatures, fan control, RGB lighting, and more. Per-key RGB lighting also enhances online gaming with Predator RGB Assault-League of Legends (LoL), by tying in the keyboard's lighting to the action on the screen while battling in LoL.
The Predator Helios 300 gaming notebook just got better with the addition of up to the newest 9th Gen Intel Core i7 processors, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 GPU with Max-Q Design supported by a Turbo key for one-punch overclocking and Killer DoubleShot Pro for fast networking. It comes with up to 32GB of DDR4 2666MHz memory and up to two PCIe NVMe SSDs in RAID 0 plus a hard drive.
The new Helios 300's 15.6-inch or 17.3-inch Full HD IPS display is now framed by a narrow border and includes 3ms overdrive response times.
Last but not least is a new keyboard featuring distinctive Predator fonts and 4-zone RGB lighting. Usability and functionality are improved with new PredatorSense and Turbo hotkeys, an enlarged spacebar, and concave-shaped, highlighted WASD keys, arrow keys, and hotkeys.

New Predator Orion 5000 Gaming Desktop, 43-inch Gaming Monitor and Refreshed Gadgets
Acer's announcements continue with new additions across its Predator line of gaming products. The new Predator Orion 5000 desktop PC powered by Windows 10 is a mid-tower targeting hardcore gamers, with Intel's latest Z390 chipset, 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K processor, and features an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 GPU. In addition, Acer has launched a 43-inch Predator monitor, alongside new additions to its series of Predator gadgets.
The new Predator Orion 5000 (PO5-605S) adopts the overclockable octa-core 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K (with Z390 chipset) with support for dual-channel DDR4 configurations (up to 64GB). The NVIDIA Turing architecture on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 GPU combines real-time ray tracing, artificial intelligence, and programmable shading. It also comes with a Cooler Master CPU Liquid Cooler.
The tower's chassis has been trimmed down to just 30 liters, while the see-through side panel includes a layer of metal mesh which, along with the rest of the case, gives EMI shielding to inner components. Users are also ffered with 2.5Gbps Ethernet.
The Easy-Swap expansion bay supports 2.5 inch form factor SATA I/II/III SSD and HDD drives, providing file transfer speeds of up to 6Gbps.
Users can choose an RGB lighting pattern that fits their style, or one that suits the game of choice. Light bars and case fans tucked away within the hardened shell support 16.7 million colors. With Lighting Maker, users can fine tune lighting and let it dance with the music being played.
Acer revealed its Predator LFGD (Large format gaming display) monitor (CG437K P) measuring 43-inches. Designed for hardcore PC and console gaming enthusiasts looking for ultra-high definition (3840 x 2160), the 4K monitor features a fast 144Hz refresh rate. The monitor's AdaptiveSync feature adapts to the frame rate of the outputting device. The VA display panel features a wide color gamut of 90 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. For enhanced color vibrancy, VESA-Certified DisplayHDR 1000 certification ensures better contrast and color accuracy. Console gamers will appreciate its three HDMI ports, plus a Type-C, and a DisplayPort.
The Predator CG437K P features power saving technologies, such as a light sensor that can detect the light level in the room and automatically adjusts brightness for comfortable viewing, and a proximity sensor, so as viewers move to the front of the monitor it will automatically wake up from standby mode, or revert to sleep mode when there is no movement in the room. It also includes a remote control.
A new range of Predator gaming gadgets was also unveiled, including:
- Predator M-Utility Backpack: designed for gamers, streamers and photographers, it's water-repellant and offers easy access to its 17-inch laptop compartment through a 180-degree fold-flat opening, making it easy for passing through airport security; plus it has a plethora of pockets including a tripod holder, built-in luggage strap for traveling, adjustable straps, and air mesh back padding.
- Predator Cestus 330 gaming mouse: Featuring the newly released solid Pixart 3335 sensor that provides responsive tracking for competitive gaming, 16,000 DPI with seven programmable buttons, on-the-fly DPI switching (5 levels) and 16.8 M RGB backlighting. Users can customize settings with the Predator Quartermaster.
- Predator Aethon 300 gaming keyboard: With Cherry switches (MX Blue), teal blue backlighting, and anti-ghosting on all keys.
Predator Galea 311 foldable gaming headset: precision-tuned 50 mm drivers featuring Acer's TrueHarmony, hard key mutable mic, comfortable foam ear cushions and a 3.5 mm headphone jack connector.

ConceptD, a Product Portfolio Designed for Creators
Acer launched ConceptD, a new brand of high-end Windows 10 desktops, notebooks, and monitors that are optimized for graphic designers, filmmakers, engineers, architects, developers and other creators.
ConceptD high-end desktops and notebooks are featuring pure-white or matte-black finishes, with amber-colored keyboard backlighting, and a cleandesign aesthetic.
The ConceptD 900 and 500 high-end desktops feature a range of NVIDIA GPUs up to the Quadro RTX 6000.
The ConceptD 900 desktop is featuring dual Intel Xeon Gold 6148 processors with up to 40 cores, and 80 threads, an NVIDIA Quadro RTX 6000 GPU, and 12 memory slots for a total of up to 192GB of ECC memory. Professionals can work with more flexibility with up to two onboard M.2 PCIe slots, plus the efficient chassis design holds up to five storage bays with RAID 0/1-capable drives. Users can expand with extra onboard three PCIe x8 and four PCIe x16 slots.
The ConceptD 900 stays cool while running compute-intensive applications through a thermal design that uses six cooling fans to draw air in through the triangular patterned front air panel, circulating it throughout the chassis.
The ConceptD 500 is powered by the latest 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K processor with 8 cores, 16 threads and reaching up to 5GHz. With GPUs including up to the NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000 GPUs, it supports four 5K displays (5120x2880 @ 60Hz) with HDR color.

The ConceptD 9 creator notebook is featuring Acer's CNC-machined Ezel Aero Hinge, This means that its 17.3-inch Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) display flips, extends, or reclines, for multiple usage modes. The display is PANTONE Validated and covers 100 percent of the Adobe RGB color gamut with Delta E <1 color accuracy. It features a Wacom EMR stylus that magnetically attaches to the ConceptD 9. The stylus delivers accurate control with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.

It features a metal chassis with a magnesium-aluminum alloy on top and a palm rest area and a magnesium-lithium alloy on the bottom. Weighing just 1.5 kg (3.30 lbs.), and measuring 16.9 mm thin (0.67 inches), it has a 6.22 mm (0.24 inches) narrow bezel with an 80 percent screen-to-body ratio.
The ConceptD 5 doesn't disappoint with its 4K UHD PANTONE Validated display. The narrow 6.2 mm bezels give creators more screen to work with and a 100 percent Adobe RGB color gamut and color accuracy of Delta E <2. It comes with up to 16GB of DDR4 memory, up to 1TB of NVMe PCIe SSD storage in RAID 0 and a backlit keyboard.
Available ports include a USB Type-C Gen 1 supporting up to 5 Gbps data transfers, as well as DisplayPort and power charging, plus offline charging. The embedded fingerprint reader provides additional security through Windows Hello.

The ConceptD CM7321K is a 32-inch monitor designed for 2D creators. Its VESA-Certified DisplayHDR 1000, 32-inch 4K UHD display delivers 1152 zones of local-dimming with Mini LED technology and DisplayHDR 1000, plus 99 percent coverage of the Adobe RGB color space and 89.5 percent Rec.2020.
The ConceptD CP7271K is a PANTONE Validated 27-inch monitor optimized for 3D creators. It has a color accuracy of Delta E <1, a wide color gamut of 99 percent of the AdobeRGB color space, and 93 percent DCI-P3 color space. It also features GSYNC Ultimate and DisplayHDR 1000.
The ConceptD OJO Windows Mixed Reality Headset features a 4,320 x 2,160 display, detachable and swappable head strap design, inter-pupil distance adjustment, and a classic white finish. It has a patented built-in sound pipe technology, and software-assisted interpupillary distance (IPD) adjustment technology that lets the wearer modify the gap between the eye's pupil and the display distance for sharper images.
