Facebook is introducing a new
Super Bowl experience to give fans one place to connect in real time as they watch the Seattle Seahawks defend their title against the New England Patriots.
Facebook users will be able to see posts from their friends and people in their network with Friends and Groups; view real-time reactions from people around the world with Live Feed; view photos and videos from news outlets as well as people at the game; view posts from the NFL, teams, players, NBC and other public voices with In the Story; view live scores, the current play time, and play by play updates at a glance ; and
join the conversation by posting about the game with the update "watching Super Bowl XLIX"
During last year's Super Bowl, more than 50 million Facebook users had more than 185 million interactions (posts, comments and likes) about the big game.
But most inmportantly, Facebook will be selling ads that target people based on what they are talking about in real time. These will include video ads that will play automatically on Facebook's newsfeed, triggered by key words that members mention in their posts as they watch the American football game on Feb. 1.
