Freecom presents "FM-1" USB stick

Freecom presents "FM-1" USB stick

General Interest Jun 24,2002 0

Freecom introduces the FM-1 USB Stick, a very convincing USB storage solution. The Freecom FM-1 is extremely small, lightweight and can store up to 256 MB of data. It is the ultimate solution for all conditions - weather- and dustproof, anti-static and shock-resistant. The accompanying software suite includes a complete line of smart applications and makes the USB Stick a professional storage tool for everyone. The AutoMail program, for example, stores your POP3 server preferences on the USB Stick; this application allows you to send and receive your personal POP3 mail on any Internet PC with a USB port. Other included software tools are PC Lock, Secure & Zip and Magic Disk. All these software tools are 90 day trial versions and include one free upgrade to a full version via www.freecom.com (excluding Magic Disk).

With the Freecom FM-1 stick, there is no need for the user to carry a heavy laptop computer around: simply store the files you need on the FM-1, take them with you and plug it into a PC: you will have immediate access to your data. It's ideal for presentations, meetings, exhibitions, school, or work... you name it!

The Freecom USB Stick is hardly larger than a car key, and can be connected to any PC or Mac via a USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 port. With storage capacities ranging from 32 MB to 256 MB, the Freecom FM-1 USB Stick is the ideal solution for transporting data from one PC to another or from a PC to a notebook or Mac. Installation is simple under Windows ME / XP / 2000 / MAC OS 9, 10.X*; no drivers are required. Connect the Freecom FM-1 to the USB port, if needed use the supplied USB extension cable and you are ready to use the FM-1! The power is supplied through the USB port, so no separate power adapter is needed.

The Freecom FM-1 has a transfer rate of more than 1 MB (read) and 800 KB (write). The FM-1 USB Stick comes with password protection software that protects your data from unauthorized use. The Multicolour Status LED on the stick indicates power on/off and read/write activity. The Freecom FM-1 USB Stick is available in 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, and 256MB versions. 512MB and 1 GB versions will be available in the fourth quarter of 2002. The FM-1 comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty with a unique lost and found service on the device's Website www.USBStick.com. The FM-1 USB Stick comes with security password protection software, a software suite, a USB extension cable, a manual on CD, and a neck strap.
