Geforce Experience Available To Everyone
Nvidia has released the open beta of GeForce Experience to everyone, offering an easy way to optimize your PC so you get the most out of your favorite games.
The downloadable app is free, and connects your PC to NVIDIA?s servers so the company can tailor your game settings to get the most out of your CPU, GPU and monitor.
The open beta follows on the closed beta released in December. It includes support to more than 40 games, including Far Cry 3, Mechwarrior Online and Hawken. Nvidia has also included support for more Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad CPUs in most games. Optimal playable settings for 2560 by 1440 displays are also available.
The process is easy. Pick your game, click 'optimize' and you?re good to go.
GFE also aims to keep your system up to date by notifying you and even installing the latest GPU drivers.
GFE supports Windows 8, 7, Vista and (DirectX 11 Runtime required.) Support for Windows XP will be added in a later release, Nvidia says.
Nvidia says that GeForce Experience does not collect any personally identifiable information. The application collects data needed to recommend the correct driver update and optimal settings including hardware configuration, operating system, language, installed games, game settings, game usage, game performance, and current driver version. You can disable data collection in GeForce Experience in the preferences tab, but without information about your PC, GeForce Experience will not be able to optimize your games.
NVIDIA may also share aggregate-level data with 'select partners,' but does not share user level data.
