Giga Computing Enhances Cloud Storage Solutions with AMD EPYC 8005 Server CPU
Giga Computing announced the phased rollout of BIOS updates supporting the AMD EPYC™ 8005 Server CPU launch. GIGABYTE servers and motherboards for the AMD EPYC™ 8004 Series CPU (LGA 4844), such as ME03-CE0, will have a BIOS update available on its product page to support the new generation of EPYC processors.
LGA 4844 – Supporting AMD EPYC 8005 & 8004
GIGABYTE server solutions built for the new AMD EPYC 8005 Server CPU deliver exceptional performance-per-watt and performance-per-dollar for edge, telco, and cloud storage deployments. By combining optimized single-socket designs with the efficiency of AMD “Zen 5” architecture, these platforms enable customers to reduce power consumption, lower total cost of ownership (TCO), and maximize compute density in space- and power-constrained environments. Engineered specifically to harness the capabilities of EPYC 8005, GIGABYTE solutions provide high-bandwidth connectivity (6400 MT/s memory in 1DPC), up to 96 PCIe Gen5 lanes, and enterprise-class reliability to support demanding modern workloads. At the same time, with EPYC 8005's native x86 architecture, organizations can adopt it without the porting and recompilation an ISA migration would require, shortening time to production across edge, telecom, and cloud storage infrastructure.
Flexible Deployment with ATX Platform
GIGABYTE enterprise ATX platforms, such as ME03-CE0 are designed for long-term stability with features such as remote management, server-grade power delivery, and enhanced thermal performance for 24/7 operation. The ME03 uses a standardized board design to provide companies with flexibility in chassis selection, easier maintenance, and simplified future upgrades.
In addition to supporting the top-end AMD EPYC 8635P with 84 cores, the ME03 has six PCIe expansion slots that support high-speed NICs for 5G, Open RAN, and low-latency data transmission. Furthermore, the PCIe slots can support AI accelerators for edge inference. Additionally, the ATX board has three MCIO 4i connectors that support NVMe or SATA storage. Together, these capabilities make the ME03-CE0 an ideal platform for organizations seeking a scalable, high-performance solution for edge, telecom, and data-intensive deployments.
BIOS Update Rollout
The ME03-CE0 will be the first product to support the EPYC 8005 platform, and additional GIGABYTE servers and motherboards will subsequently receive the BIOS update. After the new BIOS has been validated on the platform, a downloadable update will be made available on the respective product page.
