Imation will start offering its new TDK-branded 4x Blu-ray recordable discs (single layer and dual layer) as well as the first 2x BD-RE DL media in Japan next June. The company's new line-up of Blu-ray media includes 4x/2x BD-R SL/DL and 2x BD-RE SL/DL discs. Variations available include discs with a printable white surface compatible with inkjet printers.

Pricing details were not revealed. For more information visit http://www.tdk-media.jp.

Imation acquired TDK's world wide recording media business last April. Under the agreement, TDK continues R&D and manufacturing operations for recording media products including audio, video and data storage tape, and Blu-ray optical discs. TDK supplies Imation as well as its other OEM customers.
