Writing Quality Tests - C1 / C2 Error Measurements

The C1 / C2 error rate was measured for the recorded discs burned during the previous writing tests (jitter). The software used was UMDoctor Pro II, and the reader the Optorite DD0203 drive.

The charts below present the resultant C1/C2 error measurement graphs produced when reading various manufacturers media, previously recorded at the indicated speeds with the LG GSA-4081B Multi DVD Recorder. The tests include Taiyo Yuden 48x media with recording speeds of 8x, 12x and 24x, TDK 48x, MC 24x, MAM 48x, HiSpace 48x, Fuji 40x, and Creation 48x media all recorded at 24x.

- Summary

The C1/C2 levels are quite good for all the discs. MAM, Hi-Space and Creation produced some high peaks, representing higher C1 error rates on specific areas.
