Linux Smartphone Necuno NC_1 Launched
Finish Necunos announced the release of Necunos Mobile Devices NC_1 and NE_1, the world's first privacy and security focused smart mobile device.
Purchase of NC_1 is available through the Necuno Solutions web store. The smartphone will be sold in batches and the December-January batch will be 500 units.
NE_1, the enterprise version with custom made hardened operating system and secured communications, is available through Necunos. The price of NC_1 is 1199 euros including VAT and worldwide shipping. Shipping of first devices will start in March, the company said.
NE_1 is a security mobile communications device targeted towards a niche high security communication needs for businesses and organizations. With the completely verifiable software designed security first, isolated chips, end-to-end-encryption and wiretap proofed, NE_1 is suitable for extreme security use cases. Necuno Solutions provides full development and update support for the NE_1, so the secure mobile device can be tailor made for each unique business use case.
Customers can choose from Plasma Mobile on Debian, Plasma Mobile on postmarketOS, Maemo Lese, Nemo Mobile, and LuneOS. These operating systems are still being developed and are intended for early adopters. You can also purchase Necunos NC_1 without any operating system.
Necunos NC_1 is not meant for the mass market which is why the company has not provided any SIM card slots. For connecting to the internet, users can use Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
