MSI Launches The GTX 780Ti Graphics Card
MSI's implementation of Nvidia's new flagship GTX 780Ti graphics card is official, with more vendors to follow.
The GTX 780 Ti is replacing the existing GTX 780 and has been designed to counter AMD's Radeon 290X.
The MSI GTX 780Ti 3GD5 is based on Nvidia's GK 110 GPU found in the Nvidia Titan and features 2880 processing units. Its base clock is 867 MHz, which reaches the maximum 928 MHz when needed with the help of NVIDIA GPU Boost 2.0. MSI's card has 3072MB GDDR5 / 384 bit memory. Available outputs include DL-DVI-I, DL-DVI-D, HDMI and DisplayPOrt.
The GTX 780Ti also is ready for 3D displays, it can drive 4K monitors or multiple monitors at 2560x1600/2560x2440 and is supported by Nvidia's GeForce Experience which automatically optimizes your games for optimum performance.
The recently announced NVIDIA G-SYNC is fully supported and removes tearing and input lag. Streaming your games to a NVIDIA SHIELD gaming console allows you to play your PC games on Nvidia's portable console. And ShadowPlay is provided to automatically capture your gaming moments.
In addition, the GTX 780Ti can be run in 3-way SLI configurations.
It will be interesing to see the price of the GTX 780 Ti, especially after the aggresive pricing policy AMD has followed for the Radeon 290X and 290 models.
Update: Gigabyte also announced its GeForce GTX 780 Ti Overclock Edition (GV-N78TOC-3GD), featuring the company's WINDFORCE 3X cooling design.
