In response to AMD's release of the AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 processor and AMD Athlon 64 4000+ processor, MSI today announces three new MSI motherboards - the K8N Neo2 Platinum, K8N Neo4 Platinum and K8T Neo2.

These motherboards will be capable of supporting the AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 processor and AMD Athlon 64 4000+ processor. Again, AMD raises the performance bar to new heights while continuing to deliver customer-centric technologies that address end-users' desktop needs.

Today, AMD extends the award-winning AMD Athlon 64 processor family to include the AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 and AMD Athlon 64 4000+ processor to push the boundaries of cinematic computing with the AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 processor, the world's ultimate PC processor for enthusiasts and hard-core gamers seeking high-end performance.

"Every time AMD announces news for upcoming processors, MSI will do verification along with the latest processor on our K8 platform. MSI is always glad to be a great partner of AMD in creating a true win-win situation" said Charles, R&D Vice President of MSI.

"MSI's continued backing of the AMD64 platform offers yet another top-notch choice for the ultimate gaming and multimedia platform: the AMD Althon 64 FX-55 processor." Said Daryl Sartain , director, Desktop Business Segment, AMD's Microprocessor Business unit.

The MSI K8T Neo2-FIR features the newer VIA chipset, and aside from being able to lock the AGP/PCI bus, the K8T800 Pro supports the latest AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 and AMD Athlon 64 4000+ processors, the Socket-939. Of course, the other features enthusiasts have come to expect are still present. These include the ability to adjust memory ratios, a new 1000MHz bus, SATA, RAID, support for up to 4GB RAM, and Gigabit Ethernet.

The K8N Neo2 Platinum Edition is a Socket-939 motherboard for the AMD Athlon FX 64 and AMD Athlon 64 processors. This motherboard is powered by NVIDIA's single-chip nForce3 Ultra. It has many features and capabilities, plus a few more courtesy of MSI's exclusive "CoreCell" chip and a few additional integrated controllers.
