New 12 Pixel Pipeline GPU For Notebooks by Nvidia
Nvidia announced the new GeForce Go 7700 GPU for notebooks, which is currently used in the Asus A8Js notebook.
The notebook is equipped with a 14-inch widescreen display and a Core 2 Duo processor. It will be available in select countries in Asia and Europe in September.
Fully utilizing the visual processing capabilities of the new GeForce GPU with 512MB memory and NVIDIA PureVideo technology, the new notebook promises realistic 3D graphics for games and smooth playback of DVD movies and HD video.
The chip offers support for the latest games and applications with DirectX 9.0 Shader Model 3.0 and film quality high dynamic range (HDR) lighting, as well as H.264 hardware acceleration through NVIDIA PureVideo technology.
NVIDIA PowerMizer technology, with advanced power management features that enable performance enhancements in the same power budget as the previous generation of NVIDIA mobile GPUs.
The GeForce Go 7700 mainstream GPU uses 12 pixel pipelines and it 1.5 times more powerfull compared to the previous Nvidia GeForce Go 7600 chip. It is also Nvidia's first mobile GPU manufactured with the 80nm process.
