Philips introduces MP3-CD playback functionality in new products
Philips continues to extend the popularity of CD Recording as a function every audio consumer can use by expanding its range of CD Recorder separates and hi-fi mini systems featuring recordable CD drives, with the added feature of MP3-CD playback. Philips is adding a pair of three-disc changer audio CD recorders, the Philips CDR820 and CDR800. Recording on either CD-R or CD-RW media, both separates will playback CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs and, for the first time, MP3-CDs.
The 820 and 800 offer, respectively, 4x or 2x recording options for optimal speed to create music mixes, as well as an integrated 3-CD carousel. When creating compilations from the three-disc changer, users can select the Auto Level Control feature to ensure all tracks on the new disc are recorded at the same volume level. Added features on the CDR820 include a PS/2-style input to connect a PC keyboard to use with the CD Text feature, and a stereo microphone input to mix and record voice onto a CD.
With its latest audio CD recorder mini systems, the FW-R55 and FW-R88, Philips has created two of the most versatile audio products ever. The R55 features MP3-CD playback, while the lifestyle-designed R88 adds both function and style to wherever it is used.
The Philips FW-R88 and FW-R55 mini systems are designed to make recording a CD easy, and making the results even more enjoyable to listen to. Both systems feature an easy to operate ‘recording studio’, a fully integrated CD Recorder stage which records on all CD-R and CD-RW media. Recording functionality is made as quick and as one-button simple as possible. An Automatic Level Control ensures compilations can be recorded with a uniform volume level, while Text Input enables song details to be added and edited..
