Philips ships PCRW2010 (20/10/40) recorder

Philips ships PCRW2010 (20/10/40) recorder

General Interest Aug 24,2001 0

Meeting market demands for ever-higher CD recording and rewriting speeds, Philips' latest CD-ReWritable drive offers speeds of up to 20x for CD recording and 10x for CD rewriting with suitably rated disc media. The new PCRW2010 drives also have a full 40x (6.0 MB/s) CD read capability for high-speed data transfer to the PC, together with 12x digital audio extraction for fast and reliable CD Audio 'ripping'. These latest Philips CD-RW drives are designed to make CD recording an easy and trouble-free process. New SeamlessLink technology virtually eliminates the consequences of buffer underruns - one of the most common problems up to now in CD recording, which in the past frequently meant failed recordings and wasted discs. Thanks to SeamlessLink technology, the Philips PCRW2010 drive is able to monitor recording status and if necessary to pause recording when the data buffer threatens to become empty. Once the buffer is again filled recording is resumed exactly where it was paused, so that the recording can be completed successfully. Security of recording is further increased by a Thermo Balanced Writing function, which automatically optimizes data integrity and matches data writing parameters to the quality of individual discs.

The PCRW2010 drives also support the increasingly popular CD Text function, which allows the display of additional text information recorded on CDs such as song titles and artists' names. The new Philips PCRW2010 will be available from August 2001. The drive kits will be supplied complete with interactive installation software, Nero software, audio cable and 1 each CD-R and CD-RW media..."
