Philips starts distribution of DVD+RW and SuperAudioCD formats
Philips has started distribution for DVD+RW (both Video and Data) and Super AudioCD:
- Super Audio CD tentative v1.19: Philips starts the distribution of the Update of the Super Audio CD System Description Part 1 tentative version 1.19, Part 2, tentative version 1.19 and Part 3-General, tentative version 1.19.The main changes include the addition for full authentication on the IEEE 1394 interface, the indications for 3 or 4 audio channels and additional definitions of the maximum audio signal level and modulation ratio.
- Real-Time DVD-Video Recording - Video Format Specification v1.0: Philips starts the distribution of version 1.0 of Real-Time DVD-Video Recording - Video Format Specification with the DVD+RW Video Format intended for home video recording on DVD+RW media. DVD+RW Video discs are playback compatible with most DVD-Video players.
- DVD+RW Physical specifications v1.0: Philips Starts the distribution of version 1.0 of the DVD+RW Physical specifications with the mechanical, physical and optical characteristics of 120 mm rewritable optical discs with a capacity of 4.7 Gbytes and 9.4 Gbytes. It specifies the quality of the recorded and unrecorded signals, the format of the data and the recording method, thereby allowing for information interchange by means of such discs.
