PS4/PS5 gets Blu-Ray exploit that could lead to...Jailbreak
Recently big news revealed from the well known PlayStation hacker TheFloW, that using a vulnerability in the Blu-Ray driver used by PS4/PS5 could lead to a Jailbreak on PS4 and PS5. The hacker by using special code written at a BD-R/BD-RE disc could cause the system to overflow and potentially write debug code at the internal of the PS4/PS5. This "hack" has been already reported to Sony, and has been fixed with newer firmware updates than 9.04 (PS5) and 4.51 (PS5). While the TheFlow did released special code, other people picked from there and started releasing their own versions of the "hack", which for now cannot be actually used to Jailbreak both consoles, but its a good step at this direction.
So far PS4 has been jailbroken up to 9.03 firmware via other "hacking" methods, so its interesting to see if PS5 would also get similar treatment. Below you can view the presenation of TheFlow as posted online today (23-06-2022)
