Roxio to deliver CD-Recording application with the new external Yamaha drives
Roxio announced today that Yamaha Electronics Corporation has selected Roxio's Toast as their worldwide CD-Recording software bundle for two external recorders--the CRW-F1ZSX (SCSI) and the Dual interface CRW-F1ZDX (FireWire/USB 2.0), both developed specifically for the Macintosh user.
Toast will come bundled this fall with two of Yamaha's CRW-F1 external CD-Recorders. The F1ZSX provides SCSI connectivity for older Macintosh systems, while the F1ZDX provides FireWire and USB 2.0 interfaces for newer Macs. The models will come with Yamaha's exclusive DiscT@2 Laser Labeling System. Toast will include support for DiscT@2, allowing the user to burn graphics and text onto any CD-R disc. For consumers who desire a complete mastering and burning suite for all their digital audio, photo and video products, they can upgrade to Roxio's award-winning Toast 5 Titanium.
"Yamaha is dedicated to providing Mac users with top-of-the-line products. We developed our new CRW-F1 series external recorders to provide complete, high quality CD-Recording solutions by starting with an all new sleek design which was greatly influenced by the feedback from our Mac users," states Allen H. Gharapetian, general manager, Yamaha Electronics Corp. "Partnering with Roxio was the next logical step, allowing us to offer the best hardware with the #1 CD-Recording application for the Macintosh platform."
"We are excited that Yamaha chose Roxio as the preferred choice for CD recording,'' said Tom Shea, chief operating officer at Roxio. "Roxio's Toast is a clear leader in the Macintosh space and provides consumers with the most robust burning software available.''
