Samsung today announced the Samsung GALAXY S WiFi 4.0 smart player, the latest addition to its range of Android-powered GALAXY products. Available with a 4" Super Clear LCD display, the GALAXY S WiFi 4.0 supports video communications via VoIP services and video and music entertainment with multi-codec support.

Powered by WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and the Android 2.2 "Froyo" operating system, the Samsung GALAXY S WiFi 4.0 is equipped to give users access to apps, multimedia content and mobile services. VoIP support via Skype allows video calls over WiFi as well as free calls among Skype users, while access to social networking services like Twitter or Facebook keep users connected. Support for the Qik video service means that users can capture and share videos with friends and family.

A camera lets users shoot high-quality video or still images. Meanwhile, the Samsung GALAXY S WiFi 4.0 supports DivX HD, allowing high-definition video playback. Support for various codec standards including MPEG4, H264, DivX, XviD, WMV codecs

The Samsung GALAXY S WiFi 4.0 "Smart Player" fetures Samsung's SoundAlive technology for deeper bass and greater tone articulation. The phone also comes equipped with built-in stereo speaker.

The Samsung GALAXY S WiFi 4.0 will be available during the first half in global markets starting from the UK.
