Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ Are Launching With Google Play
Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, Gear VR with Controller and Google Play Music as the default music player and service are now available for purchase from AT&T, Cricket Wireless, Sprint, Straight Talk Wireless, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon Wireless.
In addition, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are available at all Best Buy retail stores, BestBuy.com, Samsung.com and the ShopSamsung app, as well as Target and Walmart.
Available in Midnight Black, Orchid Gray and Arctic Silver colors in both 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch models, the Infinity Display and near bezel-less design form a continuous surface without harsh angles.
The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are at the center of the new Gear VR with Controller, powered by Oculus. The new controller combines motion sensors, touchpad controls and a dedicated trigger to offer an even more convenient way to interact and immerse in Gear VR.
Bixby is an intelligent interface that makes your phone more helpful by assisting in completing tasks, telling you what you're looking at, learning your routine and remembering what you need to do. Key features of Bixby, including Vision, Home and Reminder, are currently available, with more features coming later this spring.
The phones are also backed by Samsung Premium Care customer service. Premium Care provides one-on-one, 24/7 technical support and assistance for everything from the set-up of your device to device training to hand delivery of a replacement should something happen to your phone with our extended warranty. Samsung Premium Care is free for the first 30 days with your new Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8. After the first 30 days, you must provide a credit card to continue this coverage at its regular price of $11.99 per month.
In addition, Samsung has partnered with Google Play Music, a music and podcast streaming service and online music locker.
With the launch of the Galaxy S8 and S8+, Google Play Music will be the default music player and music service on Android-based Samsung phones and tablets launched in 2017. With the service, users can enjoy free curated radio and smart music recommendations based on their preferences, and can discover and subscribe to podcasts.
In addition, Samsung has also collaborated with Google Play Music to create exclusive features for users of the aforementioned devices. For example, users can upload and stream up to 100,000 songs from their own music collection on Google Play Music.
With the purchase of a Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ or Galaxy Tab S3 device, users will also receive a free three-month subscription to Google Play Music, and thus ad-free, on-demand access to over 40 million songs, as well as tailored playlists that cater to any mood or occasion. In addition, with access to YouTube Red (where available), users can enjoy ad-free videos during the trial period.
