Samsung Galaxy's 10th Anniversary S10 Smartphone Said to Come in Three Models

Samsung Galaxy's 10th Anniversary S10 Smartphone Said to Come in Three Models

Smartphones Jun 25,2018 0

Samsung Electronics will reportedly develop three different models of the Galaxy S10 smartphone, set for release next year.

According to Korean news outlet ETNews, technologies such as in-display fingerprint sesnors and triple cameras will be included in the new series, which Samsung internally calls the "Beyond" concept.

Each Galaxy S10 variant could have a different rear camera setup, according to the report, with the most high-end model getting three rear cameras. This could potentially give the triple-camera S10 new camera functions or better photo-taking abilities than the single-camera Galaxy S9 or dual-camera Galaxy S9 Plus.

ETNews says that the first version will have a 5.8-inch display and one rear camera. The second will have a 5.8-inch display and two rear cameras, while the third will be 6.2-inches and have three rear cameras.

Earlier this year Huawei released the Huawei P20, Huawei P20 Pro and Huawei P20 Lite. The Huawei P20 Pro also has three rear cameras, which helps with low-light pictures, zooming and portrait mode effects.

Samsung is also expected to bring the Fingerprint On Display (FOD) function to the new devices. The technology enables fingerprint recognition of the owners' finger on the display screen. This could mean that Samsung will drop the iris authentication function from the new phones. Other reports from Korea claim that facial recognition will be also supported, using a 3D sensing camera.

Samsung didn't respond to a request for comment.

Samsung has already confirmed the development of a real foldable smartphone. which will be transformed into a 7-inch tablet when unfolded. This one is expected to be released next year, but it is possible that Chinese Huawei will come up with its own foldable smartphone in November 2018.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is expected to be released globally in early August. The device will be equipped with iris authentication function.
