Samsung To Launch SamsungPay Mini Online Payments App
Samsung Electronics opans to launch the "Samsung Pay Mini" smartphone app in South Korea that would allow for easier use of its mobile payments service for online transactions, according to reports. The Electronic Times reported on Friday that the app would be compatible with all Android and Apple devices and could launch as early as June. The mobile payments service is currently compatible with Samsung devices but the firm has said it would consider expanding the service into other manufacturers' products.
A seperate report from etnews.com says that Samsung Card, Lotte Card, and Hana Card have already decided to support Samsung's new application, with other local card companies such as KB Card to follow.
Once SamsungPay Mini is installed, online payments are executed automatically using either a mobile device or a PC. After installing an application, consumers can download many cards into it following an authentication procedure through fingerprint IDs or passwords.
Consumers can just register their cards through the application, and this application will operate automatically when thy make online payments.
Samsung Pay currently offers online payment services in South Korea but typically takes several more steps to pay through it than at offline stores.
