Samsung Logo Removed From Japanese Smartphones
Samsung Electronics will no longer put its brand name on the Galaxy smartphones it sells in Japan.
Despite the popularity of the Galaxy brand in the country, Samsung's move is associated with the bilateral relations between Tokyo and Seoul. The South Korean company said it would not like to downplay the products' association with South Korea.
The Samsung name will disappear from the Galaxy S6 Edge, to be launched Thursday through Japanese carriers NTT Docomo and KDDI.
