Samsung, Motorola Ink Formal Agreement to Share Patents
Samsung Electronics, the world's third-largest handset maker, said Monday it has signed an agreement with Motorola to share each other's patents on wireless communication technologies.
On July 1, Samsung had said it signed a preliminary agreement with Motorola, the world's No. 2 handset maker, for cross licensing.
Samsung didn't disclose the terms of its deal with Motorola such as when the agreement will expire, citing a confidentiality agreement with the U.S. firm.
Samsung has been under heavy earnings pressure due to an intensifying price war with its two bigger rivals Motorola and Nokia in the global market.
