Samsung To Preview of Galaxy S5 and Gear Devices Prior to Launch

Smartphones Mar 21,2014 0

Samsung will have on display the Galaxy S5, Gear 2 and Gear Fit and available for pre-order at more than 1,400 shops around the world beginning on March 21, 2014, in an effort to drum up consumers' interest. The global preview takes place at Samsung Experience Stores, mobile carrier stores, and retailer stores across 61 countries. Beginning with the United States and Switzerland on March 21, the first look experience will be expanded to the remaining 59 markets including Brazil, China, Germany, and United Kingdom.

The hands-on demos let users try the smartphone's integrated fingerprint recognition, heart rate monitor and improved camera, features Samsung hopes will be enough to get users to upgrade.

The Galaxy S5, Samsung's newest flagship smartphone, combines an advanced camera (16-megapixel images with HDR), LTE connectivity, dedicated fitness tools and enhanced device protection features. The device will be available globally on April 11, 2014.

The Gear devices will also be available globally on April 11, 2014.

This week Samsung saw more competition arrive in Motorola's 360 and the G Watch from LG Electronics, which are scheduled to go on sale a few months after the arrival of the new Gear products. They are both based on Android Wear, a customized version of Google's OS.

Pricing details are available here.
