Settlemant of patent dispute between Philips and Music Media
"...On September 27, 2000, the regional court in Hamburg had rendered a judgment, in favour of Philips in the CD patent infringement dispute initiated by Koninklijke Philips Electronics against the German CD replicator Music Media Manufacturing GmbH & Co. In its ruling the court of Hamburg had prohibited Music Media Manufacturing GmbH & Co from manufacturing, selling, distributing or disposing in any other way CD discs without having obtained the appropriate license from Philips.
Music Media Manufacturing GmbH & Co was further ordered to report to Philips its total production of CD discs in the past and its total stock of CD discs. Despite the fact that Music Media Manufacturing GmbH & Co had appealed the judgement of the court of Hamburg, it has now entered into a Comprehensive CD Disc License Agreement with Philips. The settlement with regard to the litigation between the parties as a result of the execution of the Agreement, has been finalised to Philips' full satisfaction and recorded by the court of Hamburg on February 15, 2001.."
