Sony BDX-S600U: New External 6x BDXL Blu-ray Disc Burner

Mobile home cinema, video archiving and a music library - the new BDX-S600U from Sony Optiarc is setting new standards for film fans on the go, providing top quality images and sound. Sony's new BDXL-compatible external Blu-ray burner for all occasion's stores up to 100 gigabytes of data on one disc and burns Blu-ray discs with 6x speed. The is powered by a Y cable with dual USB ports for adequate power.

The BDX-S600U weighs just 330 grams and supports the new 3- and 4-layer BDXL media with a capacity of up to 120 gigabytes. BDX-S600U also provides HD and 3D images with impressive sound quality.

The BDX-S600U writes to DVDs at up to 8x speed, to 1 and 2-layer BD-R media at up to 6x speed and to BD-R XL discs at up to 4x speed. The drive reads DVD media at 8x speed, Blu-ray discs at 6x speed and CD-ROMs at 24x speed.

The new Sony Optiarc Blu-ray burner comes with the CyberLink Media Suite 8 and it will be available from September. Sony Optiarc Europe offers a comprehensive 24-month warranty on the drive.
