Titanfall Now Available on Xbox One
The highly anticipated sci-fi combat game "Titanfall" has been officially released on Xbox One and Microsoft hopes that it will boost sales of its videogame device.
The next-gen shooter combines adrenaline, wall-running, double-jumping action with fast-paced titan warfare. Available on Xbox Live, the online multiplayer game is featuring elite assault pilots, heavily-armored, 24-foot titanstakes and takes advantage of the Xbox One's horsepower.
Produced by Respawn Entertainment and distributed by Electronic Arts exclusively for Microsoft's Xbox and PC platforms, the game carries a US price tag of $60.
Titanfall is being released Tuesday in the Americas, Russia and parts of Asia, and on Thursday in India, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and most of Europe. The release will be Friday in Britain, Ireland and Portugal.
Microsoft and Sony both had strong holiday sales but so far in 2014 PS4 has been leading, according to the research firm NPD.
Priced $100 more than the $399 PlayStation 4, the Xbox One is trailing behind in sales. In February, Microsoft announced an Xbox One and "Titanfall" bundle for $499, effectively offering the game for free.
